Since 2003 Deutsches Aktieninstitut officially represents the interests of the German financial centre as a whole. It has taken over this task from the former Finanzplatz e.V. A high measure of complementary objectives as well as numerous overlapping activities of Deutsches Aktieninstitut e.V. and Finanzplatz e.V. finally led to a consolidation of the strengths of both associations. The purpose was to more efficiently promote Germany as a financial center.

The general meetings of both associations last autumn agreed to the liquidation of Finanzplatz e.V. and to the simultaneous admission of the Finanzplatz members into Deutsches Aktieninstitut. The consolidation came into effect on January 1, 2003. Accordingly Deutsches Aktieninstitut's Constitution was expanded by the aim "to strengthen Germany's position as the location for financial services in the international competition".

In the course of the merge of the two associations their Web sites have been consolidated.

  • The two monthly bilingual (English/German) published magazine Finanzplatz containing information and analyses on the financial center Germany will be continued by Deutsches Aktieninstitut. In category Publications the current edition - as well as all former editions - can be downloaded.

  • Former studies of Finanzplatz e.V. on specific topics published in the series Positions you will find now in category Publications.

  • Also the English compendium Gateway to Euroland - especially developed for interested parties from abroad - is still available in category Investor Information.
Finanzplatz e.V. was founded in the beginning of 1997 by leading representatives of the Financial Community.
