Aktieninstitut comments on BMF reform proposal for private pension provision

We welcome the reform proposal on private pension provision from the Federal Ministry of Finance, in particular the retirement savings account. The proposed structure of the retirement savings account largely corresponds to international practice. Our statement contains suggestions as to how the retirement savings account can be implemented even more successfully. For example, the legislator should examine whether the planned abolition of the product information centre for old-age provision and the simultaneous introduction of the obligation to prepare product information sheets with overall risk information will actually reduce bureaucracy.
