Efficient capital markets are an important prerequisite for financing the energy transition and digitalisation. In the US, institutional investors such as pension funds are ensuring that more funds are available for corporate financing on the capital markets, emphasises Dr Norbert Kuhn, Deputy Head of the Capital Markets department, in his guest article for the Audit Committee Quarterly. In Germany, too, we need more equities in pension schemes. This will not only help to close emerging pension gaps, but will also give the German capital market a new financial boost, says Kuhn.
