Börsen-Zeitung: The number of shareholders will continue to rise (in German)
In the interview "The number of shareholders will continue to rise" with Börsen-Zeitung, Dr. Christine Bortenlänger and Dr. Franz-Josef Leven talk to Editor-in-Chief Detlef Fechtner about our commitment to the equity culture in Germany, an efficient capital market, the encouraging development in shareholder numbers, the importance of shares in retirement provision and the low number of IPOs.
Currently, almost one in five Germans is involved in the capital market. There are more shareholders than at the turn of the millennium. At the same time, the younger generation in particular is aware that the state pension will not be sufficient to provide for their old age, emphasizes Christine Bortenlänger. Politicians must make more of an effort when it comes to the issue of shares in old-age provision in order to bring about long-term changes.
