Investors expect listed companies to provide a great deal of information about their economic situation, future prospects, corporate governance and sustainability. However, transparency is not a one-way street. Listed companies also have a legitimate need to provide information to their stakeholders because valuations can have an impact on the company's reputation, its position on the financial market or even specific investment projects, writes Dr. Christine Bortenlänger in a guest article for Börsen-Zeitung.
