Children's savings accounts in international comparison – What can we learn from other countries for the early retirement pension?
Germany needs more shares in its pension provision to make pensions future-proof. This requires fundamental reform. The federal government, however, is planning on a much smaller scale. It is currently working on the introduction of an early retirement pension. For this to be successful, it needs sufficient volume, simple products and unbureaucratic government framework conditions. Our study, conducted in collaboration with Vanguard, ‘Children's investment accounts in international comparison – What can we learn from other countries for the early retirement pension?’ identifies the key success factors of children's investment accounts in France, the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada and the United States. Although these accounts have different objectives, the savings principle can be applied without restriction to pension provision.
