The DAX represents the 40 largest stock market stocks in this country and is one of the best-known share indices in the world. In an interview with Comdirect magazine on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the DAX, Dr. Christine Bortenlänger, Managing Director of Deutsches Aktieninstitut, emphasizes that investors achieve a broad diversification of their investment by investing in the DAX 40. Particularly with the DAX as a performance index, the importance of dividends for investment success becomes apparent. Dividends account for around one third of the annual return. In the long term, it therefore makes a great deal of difference whether they are reinvested.
