Companies & ESG – transformation or just reporting?

The transformation process towards more sustainable value creation poses many challenges for companies in Germany. Together with the law firm Hengeler Mueller, we interviewed supervisory board and audit committee chairmen as well as CFOs of companies in the DAX family about these challenges.

The focus was on topics such as company motivation, changeover processes and regulation. The results show that companies are highly committed to the sustainability transformation. However, the granular reporting obligations are viewed critically. We are therefore in favour of streamlining regulation in the area of reporting.
