dwpbank magazine: We need political impetus for equity investments
Large parts of the population are not yet participating in the attractive returns on the stock market, says Dr. Gerrit Fey, Chief Economist at Deutsches Aktieninstitut, in an interview with dwpbank's magazine “Transaction Next”. To change this, decisive political impulses are needed for retirement provision and wealth formation with equities or funds. However, the decisive lever for improving citizens' participation in the high returns on equities is that the opportunities offered by the stock market be exploited in all three pillars of the pension system so that the pension level can be stabilized. According to Fey, proposals on how to achieve this have been on the table for a long time. They are based on successful examples from abroad, so Germany does not have to reinvent the wheel here.
The interview was published on March 10.
