European Single Access Point: European Parliament should call for non-bureaucratic solution
In future, mandatory corporate information will be accessible in a European data portal – the so-called European Single Access Point (ESAP). We support the Commission’s proposal that ESAP should build upon existing national data reporting channels and infrastructures such as the German ‘Unternehmensregister’. However, it must be ensured that ESAP will not add new material or formal aspects to reporting requirements of issuers through the back door of the implementing technical standards that the European supervisory authorities have yet to develop.
Our position paper takes up these central demands and calls for a non-bureaucratic solution to be found in the upcoming negotiations in the EU Parliament.
