Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: The Coalition must act (in German)
In her guest article for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, our Executive Director, Dr. Christine Bortenlänger, makes a clear appeal to the governing coalition to do even more in the area of old-age provision. According to Bortenlänger, the generation capital that has been launched is only a first step toward counteracting the problems of the pay-as-you-go system in the statutory pension. It is imperative that shares become a part of old-age provision in Germany, ideally based on the example of the premium pension in Sweden, where a fixed portion of the salary is invested in the capital market. Only in this way can pensions be financed independently of the federal budget in the long term.
