Schmalenbach Impulse: Generationenkapital - The path to equity-oriented pension provision
In an article for Schmalenbach Impulse, our Chief Executive Dr. Christine Bortenlänger calls for more ambition with regard to the socalled Generationenkapital. A more ambitious approach to safeguarding pensions is essential to ensure that it does not just become a short-term tranquilliser. In view of tight public finances, there is an urgent need for pensions to be financed in the long term by contributions from future generations of pensioners and not by debt. In addition, the potential of the capital markets to finance major future tasks such as digitalisation and the energy transition should finally be realised in Germany as well.
