Empowering EU Startups and Scaleups

Deutsches Aktieninstitut has made suggestions regarding EU-KOM's strategy for start-ups and scale-ups. The focus is on the IPO as an opportunity for investors to divest their stake in a start-up/scale-up and support other young companies with the money released. Our suggestions focus on retirement provision and long-term wealth accumulation. Both can make a significant contribution to mobilising financing for young companies. In addition, the concept of an small and medium enterprise (SME) growth market offers an ideal introduction to the stock market, especially for young growth companies. The attractiveness of this concept must be improved by removing regulatory hurdles, for example in the area of EU market abuse regulation.
