Strengthening the capital markets union by promoting long-term savings products

In our discussion paper entitled “Savings and retirement accounts as part of the Capital Markets Union”, we emphasized the importance of the European long-term savings product for the Capital Markets Union and that it can also be ideally used in the context of retirement provision. In our paper, we draw on the results of the study on retirement provision portfolios that we conducted together with Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG. In this study, we have shown how these custody accounts are successfully used in other countries for retirement provision.
