Study: ‘Pension provision in Germany and France’
In response to the challenges posed by demographic change, many countries have moved to supplement the traditional pay-as-you-go pension system with funded elements involving shares. Occupational pension schemes, which have so far been relatively uncommon in Germany, could also become a key pillar through greater use of shares and the resulting higher potential returns. Deutsches Aktieninstitut has examined occupational pension schemes and reform efforts in France and Germany and formulated recommendations for action.
