Towards a simpler and more effective European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

The European Commission will review and assess the impact of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by 30 April 2026. Whilst we welcome the simplifications made to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) to date as an important step, further targeted adjustments are needed. We propose introducing a de minimis threshold for due diligence obligations so that companies are not disproportionately burdened by having to document minor imports and exports of EUDR-relevant raw materials. We also advocate for the consolidated sharing of due diligence statement reference numbers throughout the supply chain, as well as for the harmonisation of due diligence requirements across the EUDR, CSDDD and other EU regulations.
