Is investing in shares still a suitable form of retirement provision despite the current volatility? Absolutely, says Dr Norbert Kuhn, Head of Think Tank at Deutsches Aktieninstitut. A successful equity investment is based not only on broad diversification, but also on regularly paid-in amounts over a long period of time – at least 10 to 15 years. This way, a return of 6 to 9 per cent per year can be achieved on average, providing ideal retirement provisions.
