Whistleblower draft goes in the right direction (in German)

The Federal Ministry of Justice has presented a draft bill on whistleblower protection. The legislative process in Germany should now be completed quickly so that companies based in Germany can promptly introduce a uniform whistleblower protection system throughout Europe.

In our statement, we propose improvements: For example, the draft bill should clearly prescribe a graduated reporting system in the legal text, according to which the whistleblower should first report internally within the company - provided that effective internal action can be taken against the violation and the whistleblower does not have to fear reprisals.
