Why Birkenstock also preferred to go public in the USA rather than in Germany
In a guest article for Focus Online, Dr. Norbert Kuhn, Head of Corporate Finance and Deputy Head of Capital Markets, takes a close look at Birkenstock's IPO in the USA. In the article, he explains why more and more German companies are going public in the United States. In this country, too, politicians need to set the right course to make the capital market more competitive. In addition, shares - as in the USA - should also become an integral part of retirement provision in Germany. According to Kuhn, important Berlin projects such as generational capital, the planned capital stock in the statutory pension system, must not remain piecework. The focus group on private pension provision set up by the German government has compiled important approaches. These proposals must now be implemented with courage.
