In a study with dwpbank, the Deutsches Aktieninstitut (German Equity Institute) has worked out what successful models in countries such as Australia, France, Ireland, Canada and the USA look like. In an interview with dwpbank's "Nachgefragt", Dr. Norbert Kuhn, Head of Corporate Finance, discusses the key recommendations for action. We see abroad that the capital market, and shares in particular, are used much more in subsidized retirement provision than here in Germany. In Germany, we can also learn from the successful model of retirement savings accounts. In addition to tax incentives and a simple, flexible and unbureaucratic structure, guarantees should also be dispensed with.
