Interview at Tagesschau24: Update Wirtschaft on 16.03.2023 (in German)
"What was your first share?" Dr. Franz-Josef Leven, Deputy Managing Director, talks about this in tagesschau24's "Update Wirtschaft" program. The topics of stock culture in Germany and the stock pension were the subject of an interview by Dr. Norbert Kuhn, Deputy Head of Capital Markets and Head of Corporate Finance, with Stefan Wolff from ARD's financial editorial department, which was conducted live on March 16 in the program "Update Wirtschaft.
In it, Kuhn analyzes the investment behavior of people in Germany in comparison with countries such as Sweden or even the USA. In Germany, many lacked positive experience with shares. The misconception that saving in stocks is risky is unfortunately still widespread. It is overlooked that a long-term and broadly diversified stock investment has generated annual returns of six to nine percent on average in the past, Kuhn said in the interview.
Kuhn welcomes the German government's plans for so-called "generation capital," but at the same time makes it clear that the initial capital of ten billion euros is not sufficient and that at least this amount would have to be invested annually.
