Fit4Trading Podcast by DZBank: 9 percent - long breath pays off (in German)
Four out of five adults in Germany do not own shares or ETFs. The aim must therefore be to make shares and equity funds even more popular, emphasizes Dr. Gerrit Fey, Head of Capital Markets, in an interview with Falko Block for DZ Bank's Fit4Trading podcast.
The fear of the Germans before shares is based above all on the fact, so Fey, that most look too much at the short term price fluctuations with shares. The yield chances, which offer shares, disregard humans against it gladly. Yet long-term, broadly diversified stock investments can generate average annual returns of six to nine percent, as the yield triangles of the Deutsches Aktieninstitut show. A monthly investment of 50 euros can thus generate assets of 71,000 euros within 30 years, Fey calculates.
