Improve investor protection in Europe!

European investors are repeatedly exposed to discriminatory state measures (for example expropriation) when investing across borders. However, national courts in some Member States do not fully protect investors because their judicial systems lacks independence.

In our response to the EU consultation on the rule of law in Europe, we draw attention to legal protection deficits in cross-border investments within Europe. There is a need for an independent and binding settlement mechanism at EU level in investor-state disputes.
