Sustainability issues appear too early for the Corporate Governance Code

In the context of the consultation of the German Corporate Governance Code 2022, the draft contains many good approaches to more sustainable corporate governance. However, many legislative projects are currently underway at German and European level in the area of sustainability. This threatens to make the new code less up-to-date and possibly overshoot the target.

It is therefore not yet the time for the new Code to give companies specific recommendations in the area of sustainability, but rather to limit itself to suggestions.
